The project team

Orchard functional ecology is the coordination of management practices to produce healthy soil, ground cover, tree structure, tree canopy and economic production return. An ecologically based orchard production system requires fewer pesticide applications.

This project based at Michigan State University looks at different aspects of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to develop measures of sustainability.
